Balaleet is a traditional
breakfast dish in the gulf generally and in the UAE
particularly. balaleet always served with omelet and sometimes with different type
of bread like “rgaag” which a traditional bread.
People eat balaleet as
sweet during the day sometimes, but most of the time they prefer balaleet for breakfast.
I consider balaleet as my favorite traditional breakfast because it is so delicious;
and the test of balaleet is mixed with salt and sugar, it sounds like its weird
but it is really fabulous. Most the emiraties loves to eat balaleet; not just
the emirties even the gulf people.
Since I consider blaleet as
my favorite traditional breakfast; I asked my mother to teach me how to cook
blaleet, she told me that making blaleet so simple but the ingredient could be different
from person to another. But here is my mom blaleet ingredients:
1.
One pack of
vermicelli
2.
Cooking oil
3.
Sugar
4. Ground cardamom
5. Saffron
6. Rose water
8. Salt and black paper
9. Boiling water
10. Egg
After having all the ingredients
ready, we can start to follow the recipe bellow:
1.
Boil a water in large pan for vermicelli
2.
In another medium pan put two small spoon of oil and half of the vermicelli
3.
Mix the vermicelli with the oil till it become brown color
4.
After the vermicelli become brown, put it the boiled water
5.
Leave it for 4 minutes, then filter the vermicelli from the water

Keep it on the vary low heat

Start to add the sugar,
rose water, saffron, ground cardamom

Mix the ingredients so they well combined.
After that you can start to
make you omelet egg with salt and black paper and put it on the top of
balaleet, and your dish will be ready to serve. In addition, it could be sarved
with Arabic coffee or milk with tea.
At the end, people in UAE
could consider this as important recipe because it is a part of our traditional
food and the people in UAE loves to eat blaleet so they may want to know how to
